- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp baking soda
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup M&M's or candy-coated chocolates
- Pinch of salt
Turn on your oven to 350°F (175°C) and put parchment paper on baking sheets.
Place peanut butter, butter and sugars into a bowl and mix them together until they turn light and feel fluffy.
Mix the eggs and vanilla extract into your mixture.
After that, add baking soda and salt and mix until the oats are incorporated.
At this point, you should sprinkle chocolate chips and M&M’s into the mixture.
Remove 2 tablespoons of dough and set each piece onto the baking sheet spaced evenly.
Raise the dough just a little by using your fingertips or spoon.
Remember to check your cheesy delights after 10 minutes of baking and stop cooking when the edges are brown and the middle is a bit soft.
Wait approximately 5 minutes for the cookies to cool on the sheet, then place them on the rack.
Use peanut butter that’s not hard – It won’t break up while mixing and keeps your cookies soft and chewy.
Take your cookies out before they become too dry, instead of waiting for them to be fully hard in the center. They become firmer after cooling.
Prepare the dough more easily by chilling it for 10–15 minutes when it is too sticky.
Stop when you see the candies are incorporated to avoid crushing them.
Store your cookies in an airtight container so they remain soft every day.
